AKEL on the anniversary of the tragedy at Mari

AKEL commemorates the memory of the thirteen men who lost their lives in the deadly explosion at the “Evangelos Florakis” naval base in Mari, while on duty in the National Guard, the Fire Brigade and the Catastrophe Response Special Unit (EMAK).

The anniversary of the tragedy in Mari underlines that for the state, the protection of the lives and safety of all those in the service of the homeland should be non-negotiable. The state must ensure that human lives are not lost in such tragedies again.
