AKEL delegation departs for the International Meeting of Communist and Workers Parties in Vietnam

A delegation of AKEL departed today for Vietnam to participate in the 18th International Meeting of Communist and Workers Parties to be held on 28-30th October in the capital Hanoi. The AKEL delegation consists of Vera Polycarpou, member of the C.C. of AKEL and Head of the International Relations and European Affairs Department of the C.C. of AKEL and Georgos Koukouma, member of the C.C. of AKEL and member of the International Relations Department of the C.C. of the Party.
The International Meeting, hosted by the Communist Party of Vietnam and with the participation of dozens of Communist and Workers’ Parties from all over the world, has as its theme: “The capitalist crisis and the imperialist aggression – The strategy and tactics of the Communist and Workers’ Parties in the struggle for peace, labour and popular rights, socialism.”
On the sidelines of the deliberations, the AKEL delegation will hold bilateral meetings during which parties will be briefed also on the developments on the Cyprus problem.
