AKEL condemns the resent killings in Odessa of Ukraine

The C.C. AKEL condemns the burning of the Trade Unions’ building and the killing of tens of people by nationalist elements in Odessa of Ukraine. The nationalist aspirations that are escalating after the coup in Kiev and the support of the Western powers lead to the de facto partition of Ukraine and increase the possibilities for sparking a new greater war.

AKEL considers that the solution can only be found with the restoration of legality, dialogue and the respect of the democratic rights of the whole population of Ukraine.
