AKEL concerns regarding the developments in Venezuela

We have witnessed during the last days a new attempt for undermining the legally elected government of Nikolas Maduro in Venezuela. Several far-right opposition tendencies, with violent acts tried to create a new situation of instability in the country.

All these happen with the support to the opposition by the USA which find increasingly new imaginative methods for overthrowing governments. It is a matter of fact that the Bolivarian Revolution remains an enemy of the imperialist interests, while insists in the state management of the country’s oil reserves and stands against the prevailing of the local and foreign monopolies.

Additionally, several elements prove fraudulent misrepresentation of the last developments in Venezuela by local media which follow the opposition’s propaganda. More specifically, it is appeared that several pictures revealed by those media do not correspond to the actual facts of the last days in Venezuela but they are related with other points in time.

AKEL condemns the fraudulent and fascist attempts for overthrowing the legally elected government of Venezuela. Also it condemns the involvement of third parties in the internal affairs of another country. Once more expresses its support towards the Bolivarian Revolution as long as it remains in favor of the radical popular reforms, against the monopolies and in favor of the just distribution of the national wealth.
