AKEL calls on DIKO President to explain his strategy and tactics on the Cyprus problem

Statement of Georgos Loucaides, AKEL Press Spokesperson

AKEL C.C. Press Office, 23rd October 2015, Nicosia

The President of the Democratic Party DIKO Mr. Nicholas Papadopoulos returned today in the same way aphoristic and unsubstantiated way to criticize AKEL and the previous government in relation to the Cyprus problem.

nikolasWe once again call on Mr. Papadopoulos to explain what he himself proposes as a strategy and tactics with regards the Cyprus problem and in particular to explain to citizens how it will be achieved. That is to say, how to achieve the liberation from the occupation, as well as the liberation and reunification of our country and people. We also call on Mr. Papadopoulos to respect the consistency and steadfastness that characterizes AKEL’s positions over time on the Cyprus problem.

At the same time we want to make it clear to Mr. Papadopoulos and the leadership of the Democratic Party that DIKO is welcome to take the path of consistency and steadfastness with regards positions on the Cyprus problem and more specifically it is welcome to march with us on the path unanimously approved by the National Council in September 2009 which aims at finding a bi-zonal, bi-communal federal solution, a solution that will respect basic principles of the solution of the Cyprus problem.
