AKEL and CTP cooperation on sports issues

The Sports Bureau of the Central Committee of AKEL and the Sports Committee of the (Turkish Cypriot) Republican Turkish Party (CTP) recently held a meeting at the CTP’s provincial offices in Nicosia.

The two delegations confirmed the need for cooperation in the field of sports, which can promote cooperation and empathy among all Cypriots. They expressed their desire to organize relevant sporting events and activities in the coming period, in which both communities will participate and address existing challenges.

Finally, the two sides agreed to establish a bilateral working group on sports, within the framework of previous agreements on joint working groups between the two parties.
