After all, what is it that Mr. Christodoulides owes Netanyahu to shame our country for his sake?

At a time when the UN is warning that 14 thousand children in Gaza are at risk of dying in the next few hours due to the starvation imposed by Israel, Mr. Christodoulides and his government insist on supporting and covering up the Israeli regime committing the first genocide of the 21st century.

Even now, when, belatedly and timidly, moves are being made by the international community to put pressure on Israel, the Cypriot government is choosing isolation for Israel’s sake. A large majority of EU Member-States yesterday called for a review of EU-Israel relations, but the Christodoulides government opposed this. Twenty-three (23) countries from different continents have signed a joint appeal to allow humanitarian aid to be delivered to Gaza, but the Christodoulides government – which has otherwise been boasting around about Amalthea – has deafeningly abstained. Even the United Kingdom, which has long supported Israel, is taking decisions in response to Israel’s obstruction of humanitarian aid.

Mr. Christodoulides, Mr. Kombos (the Minister of Foreign Affairs) and the government as a whole will soon be left alone in the world to defend and join forces with the wanted war criminal Netanyahu and to regard the murder of thousands of children as “self-defence”.

We wonder what is it, after all, that Mr. Christodoulides owes Netanyahu to shame and undermine our country for his sake. Neither the interests of our country, nor international law, nor basic humanity justify a foreign policy without moral principles.
