AKEL GS telephone contact with the leaderships of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) and Socialist PASOK party
The General Secretary of the Central Committee of AKEL, Stefanos Stefanou, had separate telephone communications today with the General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Greece, Demetris Koutsoumbas, and the President of Socialist PASOK, Nikos Androulakis, in relation to the surveillance scandals in Cyprus and Greece.
The General Secretary of the Central Committee of AKEL exchanged information and assessments with the leaders of the two Greek parties on the extremely serious case of wiretappings/surveillance and the activities of spy networks. Stefanos Stefanou provided information in relation to the case denounced by AKEL in 2019 about the black spy van and the activities of the well-known former Israeli agent in our country, who is the owner of the company whose software was used to conduct surveillance of politicians and journalists in Greece. During the two telephone communications it was agreed that there will be continuous communication and coordination for the assumption of further actions.
It should be recalled that apart from the case of the surveillance of the President of the socialist PASOK party of Greece by the National Security Service, which is currently shaking public life in Greece, the KKE had made repeated accusations about wiretappings and interceptions in the telephone centre of its headquarters in previous years.
