The Bicommunal Photography Competition will be held for the 4th consecutive year

22 February 2022, AKEL C.C. Press Office, Nicosia

AKEL announces that the Bicommunal Photography Contest, which AKEL and the AKEL delegation to the Left Group – GUE/NGL in the European Parliament has been organising in recent years, will continue this year too.

The theme of this year’s competition will be: “Cypriot nature”.

Through the theme, photographers are invited to highlight Cypriot nature from all corners of the island. Cyprus of the four seasons, the mountains and the sea, the habitats, the flora and fauna. Furthermore, Cyprus is threatened by the anarchic development of the unique natural environment, the daily pollution, rampant exploitation of natural resources, natural disasters and the existence of the partitionist status quo itself.

The Competition is being held at the initiative of the Rapprochement Bureau of the C.C. of AKEL in cooperation with the European Affairs Bureau of the C.C. of AKEL. This year, THE Environmental Affairs Bureau of AKEL is also contributing to the realisation of the Competition – due to the choice of the theme

The submission of entries will last until mid-October. More details on the conditions and other relevant information of the competition will be announced later. For more information contact photocont@akel.org.cy Telephone: 22589521.
