In the reality society is living prices are skyrocketing daily

One wonders, haven’t the government ruling forces opened the electricity bill yet? Maybe they are now sending their drivers to fill up their car? Don’t they shop what every household buys? Only with the government’s statistical logic is there no high cost of living in Cyprus and there are no price increases in almost all essential goods, in electricity and fuel.
As long as the government and the ruling DISY party are trying to convince the people that there are no price hikes and high cost of living, they just confirm that they are living in a virtual reality. Because in the reality that society is experiencing, prices are skyrocketing and gnawing away at its standard of living every day. They even confirm that they aren’t moved to do anything whatsoever to relieve households and working people.
Indeed, for the second day running the government and DISY are not giving a reply to certain very specific questions:
- Should the Cost of Living Allowance be restored or abolished? Why don’t they comment on the position taken by their MP yesterday who called for the complete abolition of this social gain?
- Should the double taxation on fuel be abolished or should we continue to pay one tax after the other?
- Should we start lowest price tendering for electricity from photovoltaic panels or should we continue to pay 5 times more to 3-4 big businessmen?
- Should the reduction of VAT on electricity continue – as decided by Parliament – or do the government ruling forces consider that consumers do not need it?
