The President must finally give an answer about the conclusion of the Crans Montana conference

Statement by AKEL C.C. Spokesperson Stefanos Stefanou

AKEL C.C. Press Office, 22nd October 2020, Nicosia

President Anastasiades must finally give an answer about the conclusion of the conference at Crans Montana:

Why didn’t President Anastasiades react to the UN Secretary-General’s Report of September 2017, in which he praised Turkey’s constructive stance at the Conference and assigned responsibilities on the leaders of the two communities for the breakdown at Crans Montana?

Why did the government and the country’s diplomacy remain silent when this Report was being drawn up, with which Turkey was relieved of responsibilities on the Cyprus problem?

Why hasn’t the President and the Government questioned to this day the Report of the UN Secretary General, which is now an official document of the International Organization and the narrative supported by the entire international community?

In any case, the Anastasiades government doesn’t have a good relationship with the truth anyway, but the Cypriot people are entitled to know the truth.
