AKEL strongly denounces attack on the Koprulu Mosque

The Limassol District Committee of AKEL denounces in the strongest possible terms last night’s attack on the Koprulu Mosque. Under the cover of darkness sinister forces are once again sowing hatred and division. Their action, which strengthens the advocates of division and separation, is another offensive provocation, while it creates another rift in our people’s unity.
The culture of all the communities of Cyprus must be fully respected and promoted because it is the culture of the whole of Cyprus. AKEL will be vigilant and on alert so that such incidents of racism, violence and incitement to hatred do not find any fertile ground. AKEL calls on the government and the police to immediately investigate the case and punish the perpetrators in an exemplary manner.
