AKEL clarifies its position on Turkish Foreign Minister’s reported invitation extended to AKEL

ppl gs CC AKELOn the occasion of statements made by Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu, which were published in today’s mass media that Ankara intends to invite the General Secretary of the Central Committee of AKEL Andros Kyprianou to Turkey, AKEL would like to clarify that so far it has not received such an invitation.

If and when the General Secretary of the C.C. of AKEL receives such an invitation it will respond positively in order to convey the long-standing principled positions of the Greek Cypriot side for the solution of the Cyprus problem, as these have been set out by the National Council.
