Visit to the Biological Wastewater Treatment Plant
Statements by the General Secretary of AKEL A.Kyprianou of the AKEL C.C. Press Office, 10th June 2020, Nicosia
An AKEL delegation headed by the General Secretary of the C.C. of the Party, Andros Kyprianou visited today the Biological Wastewater Treatment Plant of Western Limassol. The delegation included AKEL Limassol District Secretary and AKEL MP Giorgos T. Georgiou, AKEL Political Bureau member Neoklis Sylikiotis and AKEL Limassol District Committee members Stefanos Stefanou and Michalis Socratous.
At the end of the meeting, the General Secretary of AKEL stated that “the new Sewerage Board of Limassol Amathus (SALA) factory is a very important project for the wider region, but also for Cyprus. It is a project that has cost around 40 million, together with its maintenance. We thought it would be useful to come and talk to the workers here, to see how the project is developing. AKEL has played a leading role in the development of this project. We believe that it will contribute greatly to improving the life, not only of the inhabitants of the Municipilarity of Polemidia, but of the wider region as well.
The project is moving forward according to plan. It is a fact that there are some delays due to the coronavirus, but I think that’s to be expected. The same will apply to all the projects underway. Our wish and desire is that the project is completed on time, so that it can serve the wider region”.
