The only ones not concerned about the high cost of living is the government

Citizens are rightly protesting about the high cost of living and constant increase in the price of essential goods. These increases are documented in figures released by the State Statistical Service, but the government is looking away with apathy and doesn’t concern itself with the issue. And not only that: The Anastasiades-DISY government instead providing support to households that are suffering is making the situation worse as a result of big cuts being implemented in social and housing programs, together with the dismantling of the welfare state.

The unemployed, the low-paid, poor pensioners and young people are being crushed by the high cost of living, the cuts and freezing wages, but neither is the government concerned, nor interested or showing any sensitivity. It is clear that it is living in another, parallel world that has nothing to do with the reality that thousands of our fellow citizens are experiencing. The government is only interested in the privileged few which is why it gives them a lot while not caring at all for the many who get almost next to nothing.
