The new composition of AKEL’s Policy Sectors and Bureaus

With the participation of over 420 people from AKEL, the Social Alliance and the broader progressive spectrum, AKEL’s new Policy Sectors and Bureaux have been formed, which are responsible for producing policy and programmatic proposals in every field of public life. The new composition of AKEL’s Policy Sectors and Bureaux was approved at the last meeting of the Party’s Central Committee.
AKEL’s Policy Sectors and Bureaux are a key tool for elaborating the programmatic proposals submitted by AKEL at all levels, monitoring the government’s work, and synthesising ideas and opinions on all areas of Cypriot society, the economy, institutions and the state. Members of AKEL and the Social Alliance participate in AKEL’s Policy Sectors and Bureaux, as well as independent individuals from the broader progressive spectrum. Hundreds of scientists, academics, activists from social movements, trade unionists, professionals, militants of mass organizations and associations, elected representatives in local government authorities and the House of Representatives make up the Sectors and Bureaux of AKEL, with a particularly strong presence of women and young people.
