Letter from the AKEL Parliamentary Representative G.Loucaides to the Minister of Health
AKEL C.C. Press Office, 13th April 2021, Nicosia
The Parliamentary Representative of AKEL, Giorgos Loucaides today sent a letter to the Minister of Health, requesting that the date for the resumption of cultural events should be set promptly, so that the required time is given to art workers and artists to commence their preparation.
The letter attached is as follows:
“As you know very well, the effects of the restrictive measures have been particularly painful for those employed in the field of culture from the very beginning of the pandemic. The second wave of the pandemic further aggravated the whole situation. Many people in the field of culture are in despair, companies and organizations are on the brink of disaster.
Taking into account that for any cultural event to take place preparation is demanded even for months, we call on you to set a timely date for the substantial resumption of cultural events (Theatres-Music and dance etc.), according to the health protocols to be decided”.
