The government is handing over the keys of its foreign policy to the demands of the US

Why is ruling DISY party celebrating? Is it because the Anastasiades government is handing over the keys of our country’s foreign policy to the demands of the US?

The United States are setting the destruction of Cyprus’ relations with Russia as a precondition for the partial and temporary lifting of an unjust and absurd embargo.

We agree that in foreign policy you don’t get into the dilemma with either one or the other side. But this is precisely what the government ruling forces are doing: they are choosing to side with the US and NATO at the expense of a longstanding supporter of the struggles of Cyprus, both within and outside the UN. Namely Russia, which is a permanent member of the Security Council of the United Nations.

The stand of ruling DISY and the government is a classic example of how ideological obsessions are causing serious damage to our country’s national interests.
