The Christodoulides government is continuing the Anastasiades-DISY government’s orgy of appointments

Every day a new case is revealed about the government’s appointments and hiring of advisers. This is happening because the Christodoulides government is continuing unabated the orgy of appointments/hiring of personnel started by the Anastasiades-DISY government – who is today belatedly protesting at this orgy – creating an army of advisors and consultants in the Presidential Palace, Ministries and Deputy Ministries. As for the political parties that support the government, their silence is glaring.

This situation humiliates any sense of good administration and provokes society. But to put an end to it, yesterday’s practices must end. AKEL insists that a legislative framework, criteria and rules should be established for hiring advisors/consultants and assistants must be established. If the government wants – if only to avoid being disgraced daily – it should respond to our demand without any further delay.
