The Armenian Genocide represents a horrific page in the history of Humanity. Today, on the day of the commemoration of the Armenian Genocide, we honor the memory of the victims of the Genocide. We express our respect to the friendly people of Armenia, the Armenians of the diaspora and the Armenian community of Cyprus.

The universal recognition of the Armenian Genocide is, and should be, the duty of every modern state. All countries, Turkey in particular, are obliged to recognise the historical truth and restore it. AKEL stands by the side of the fighters and activists inside Turkey who are struggling in this direction.

Defending the historical memory of the Armenian Genocide is the best way to honor the victims, but also a powerful tool in preventing the repetition of such heinous crimes in the future.
