Solidarity with the flood victims in Greece

 

AKEL ready to assist in the relief of the affected

The General Secretary of the Central Committee of AKEL, Stefanos Stefanou, had a telephone conversation today with the Greek Ambassador to Cyprus Ioannis Papameletiou, conveying AKEL’s solidarity and support towards the flood victims of the country.

As S.Stefanou noted, “the Greek people are still suffering from the consequences of the recent natural disaster, which in its wake left dead and caused huge material and ecological damage”.

“Our sincere condolences go out to the families of the victims. Our solidarity is given and our support is imperative,” concluded the General Secretary of AKEL, stressing AKEL’s readiness to assist in the effort to provide relief to the victims from both Cyprus and Greece through the AKEL Branch of Greece, which has already undertaken relevant initiatives.
