President Anastasiades is not in touch with people’s reality

The President of the Republic, without any trace of self-criticism, has repeated himself. Whereas during the election campaign he was saying that he had solutions for everything, after the elections, more than two years after assuming office, he continues to declare that the previous government is to blame for everything.

As far as the substance is concerned, we point out two things. First, President Anastasiades’ defending of the illegal horizontal haircut on all the bank deposits, a position that confirms all the EU institutions and the events that preceded it, namely that the criminal act of the haircut on insured bank depositors was a proposal submitted by Mr. Anastasiades himself.

Second, the desperate attempt which Mr. Anastasiades has made once again to persuade that everything is progressing wonderfully in the Cyprus economy, thus reaffirming that he is not in touch with the reality people are experiencing, who continue to feel that we are going from bad to worse.
