Only those who have something to hide are panicking – We have nothing to hide and are talking with facts and political arguments
AKEL C.C. Press Office, 2nd February 2018, Nicosia
Foreign Minister Mr. Kasoulides accuses us of panicking.
Only those who have something to hide are panicking. We have nothing to hide. We are talking with facts and political arguments.
If President Anastasiades and DISY withstand this political discussion, if they have the courage even at this stage, let them answer the following questions:
Was or wasn’t Mr. Anastasiades lying about his departure from the Mont Peleran talks? And let them not invoke page 28 of the minutes in question. Let them make it public. We provoke them to make page 28 of the minutes public at long last.
Was or wasn’t Mr. Anastasiades lying when he says he supposedly knew nothing about the haircut on bank deposits? Five years later they admit they not only knew, but that the proposal for a haircut on bank deposits was actually their own.
Was or wasn’t Mr. Anastasiades lying when he says given that he supposedly didn’t know about the haircut on bank deposits he didn’t inform anyone from his close family circle?
Was or wasn’t Mr. Anastasiades lying when he says that he didn’t know about the withdrawal of the map by the Turkish Cypriot side at the same time as the United Nations are saying that he has been informed (about it) since December?
We are talking about facts and put forth political arguments.
We await Mr. Anastasiades’ campaign team to reply to these questions, concretely and convincingly, instead of talking about panic. Others seem to be panicking.
