DISY President continues undermining Greek people’s struggle

AKEL expresses its regret because the President of the governing DISY Rally party in his statements yesterday although he verbally expressed his support towards the Greek government, in practice the content of his statements was once again undermining the Greek people’s struggle.

– The support he expressed did not concern the Greek government’s logical demands for the termination of the austerity policy and for an easing of the debt, but only concerned support for Greece remaining in the Eurozone

– Returning to the issue of the easing of the Greek debt, DISY President Averof Neophytou warned that this would harm the interests of the Republic of the Republic and therefore the issue should be addressed accordingly. It is obvious that Mr. Neophytou is not worried in the least, just like the German Finance Minister Wolfgang Schaeuble, that the Greek debt is not sustainable as it is and that, inter alia, there is a serious danger of impossibility of repayment.

– Once again the President of DISY defended the mechanism of the Troika, which has no institutional, democratic legitimacy and control whatsoever.

– Mr. Neophytou still perceives the concept of assertion as being synonymous with populism and recklessness.
