Commissioner for Volunteering thanks AKEL for the contribution of its 350 volunteers in tackling the pandemic

The General Secretary of the C.C. of AKEL Andros Kyprianou received a letter of thanks from the Commissioner for Volunteerism and Non-Governmental Organizations Yiannis Yiannakis with regards the contribution of the volunteers of AKEL members and cadres during the period of Pandemic. AKEL put 350 volunteers at the disposal of government agencies to staff the mobile units that served the vulnerable groups of the population.
The Volunteer Commissioner in his letter to the General Secretary of the C.C. of AKEL states the following:
“I would like to thank you for your significant voluntary contribution to supporting the implementation of my Office’s voluntary programs to confront the Pandemic.
The voluntary contribution of your members under the direction of my Office with the strict application of the health measure protocols we have implemented, contributed to the successful tackling of the pandemic, as well as to providing support to those who had been negatively affected by it.
I would like you to convey to all your volunteers my satisfaction for the cooperation and invaluable contribution of your members in this effort”.
