An AKEL delegation of AKEL, headed by the S.Stefanou, departs for an official visit to the People’s Republic of China

A delegation of AKEL, headed by the General Secretary of the Central Committee, Stefanos Stefanou, departed for the Peoples Republic of China (PRC) today for an official visit following an invitation from the Communist Party of China (CPC). During the visit, which will last until 2 March, the AKEL delegation will have a series of meetings in Beijing with Ministers and deputy Ministers of the PRC, leading CPC officials, while in Shanghai it will visit a high-tech enterprise and an environmental protection unit.

The AKEL delegation also includes the members of the Political Bureau of the C.C. of AKEL Nikos Ioannou and Charis Karamanos, the Head of the Party’s International Relations and European Policy, Vera Polycarpou, the Head of AKEL’s Social Policy, Evanthia Savva and the Head of the Family Policy Office, Maria Ioannidou.
