AKEL’s Christmas message

AKEL wishes good health and prosperity to all the Cypriot people on the occasion of the Christmas holidays. It wishes everyone to enjoy moments of rest, joy and family warmth. We extend our special wishes to the working people of the country who are obliged to work during these festive days.

The festive spirit of the holidays does not make us forget that thousands of people in our country continue to face economic uncertainty and deprivation, while the unbearable cost of living is now putting pressure on the majority of society. This confirms that our country needs, along with the solidarity that characterises our people, to build a state based on solidarity and welfare that truly embraces everyone.

At the same time, our thoughts are also with long-suffering and neighbouring Palestine, where the blood of civilians and children is flowing, subjected to the ongoing atrocities being committed by the Israeli army. Our solidarity with the Palestinian people is both a wish and a hope for a just and lasting peace in the Middle East.

AKEL’s Christmas message is a message of peace, solidarity and love for all people, both in our country and around the world, regardless of religion, language and nationality.

We wish the very best, good health and happiness to all.
