AKEL message of solidarity with the Communist Party of Greece

For years the Greek people have suffered as a result of the decisions taken by the ruling circles in the European Union and that are being implemented domestically. In these elections, these same circles are trying to intervene and affect alterations in the Greek people’s position and will through both extorting and false dilemmas. It is our strong belief that the Greek people must be left to take its decisions alone.

We express our solidarity with the Communist Party of Greece, the party which is in the vanguard of the popular struggles for resistance to the Memorandum policies and which is always struggling with consistency and steadfastness for the defence of the rights and dignity of the Greek people. We wish every success to KKE in the battle of the elections on Sunday and express our conviction that the election result will strengthen the struggles and enhance the perspective of the Greek people for a better and more hopeful future.
