AKEL is organising a big Memory and Honor concert on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the twin crime committed against our people and homeland, namely the coup d’état and the Turkish invasion of 1974.
The concert will take place on the very day of the coup d’état, Monday 15 July 2024 at 20:00 at the Famagusta Gate Moat in Nicosia.
The keynote speaker will be Stefanos Stefanou, General Secretary of the C.C. of AKEL, while the actress Annita Santorineou will open the event.
The following renowned Greek and Cypriot singers will be participating in the concert: Maria Farandouri, Manolis Mitsias, Miltos Paschalides, Rita Antonopoulou, Koulis Theodorou, Demetris Mesimeris and Frideriki Tombazou. In addition, a Choir conducted by Roula Tyrimou will also take part, while the actor Neoklis Neokleous will recite poetry. The musical supervision of the concert is by Koulis Theodorou and the orchestrations by Michalis Messios.
