AKEL replies to DISY Vice President

The deputy president of ruling DISY today accused AKEL of barren and destructive opposition, characteristically saying that this is how AKEL has always acted and that it has no proposals.
Today, we have submitted our comprehensive proposal on Public Health issues in full. I would also like to say that during all this time, in an effort to act constructively and for the benefit of Cypriot society, we have submitted numerous proposals. AKEL has submitted proposals for the economy, on Health, proposals for working people, the self-employed and small and medium enterprises, for Education, Culture, livestock breeders and today, within the framework of AKEL’s supposed “destructive opposition”, we submit a comprehensive proposal for Health issues.
I wonder what proposals has DISY, which is the ruling party, submitted all through this period? I would also like to say that the President of the Republics on several occasions has welcomed the constructive role with which all political parties have operated. Consequently, DISY deputy president Haris Georgiades, should address Mr. Anastasiades to hear what role AKEL plays. When it suits it, DISY characterises AKEL as a serious, responsible and patriotic party. When it doesn’t suit DISY, when we justifiably criticize it, then AKEL is accused of ‘barren and destructive opposition’. We let the people judge them.
