AKEL delegation visits film director Panicos Chrysanthou

An AKEL delegation including MP’s Andreas Kafkalias and Valentinos Fakontis, the Head of the Culture Affairs Bureau of the C.C. of AKEL Kostas Kosta and the member of the Paphos District Secretariat of AKEL, Kostas Diplaros, visited the community of Pelathoussa today to express AKEL’s support for the efforts to deal with the consequences of the devastating fire.

The AKEL delegation met with film director Panicos Chrysanthou whose house was completely destroyed, as well as important archive material. The damage suffered by the artist is incalculable. The AKEL delegation assured the director that AKEL would contribute in every possible way so that his creative and rich work could continue unhindered. The delegation conveyed the Party’s readiness to support the filmmaker in every way possible.

The presence of the Deputy Minister of Culture at Panicos Chrysanthou’s house sends the message that the state will provide all assistance for the restoration of the damage to his house, supporting the effort to save the most important archival material of the creator.

The Central Committee of AKEL has raised the symbolic amount of 1,000 euros to cover the film director’s immediate current needs.
