AKEL calls on everyone to participate in the event on Climate Change
AKEL calls on everyone to participate in the event being organized by the Federation of Environmental Organisations demanding action on Climate Change
AKEL C.C. Press Office, 9th December 2019, Nicosia
AKEL supports the protest meeting organized by the Federation of Environmental Organizations of Cyprus (OPOK) on Wednesday 11th December, to demand action on Climate Change.
The event takes place two days before the end of the United Nations Climate Summit in Madrid. Once again, UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres rang the alarm for the future of the planet. The extreme weather conditions and the rise in temperature is now a fact with all this means for humanity. Unless drastic measures and decisions are taken to truly address the issue, we will not see any substantial changes. Immediate action, binding agreements and funds are needed to enable all countries to address these phenomena on an equal footing.
AKEL calls on everyone to participate in OPOK’s event to demand that Cyprus take all the necessary measures to protect our country. Our environment concerns us all.
