AKEL calls for a mass participation in the annual event honoring Dervis Ali Kavazoglou and Kostas Misiaoulis

AKEL addresses a call for mass participation in the event commemorating and honoring Dervis Ali Kavazoglou and Kostas Misiaoulis, which will take place on Sunday, 5 April at 11:00 a.m. in front of the Local Club of the Left “Adonis Idaliou” in Dali. This will be preceded by an Anti-Fascist Youth March, which will begin in Pera Chorio at 9:45 a.m.

The sacrifice of Kavazoglou and Misiaoulis serves as a constant reminder of the suffering that nationalism and chauvinism have brought to both communities in Cyprus. Especially at a time when nationalists are intensifying confrontations between the two communities and the legacy of the far right and fascism in Cypriot and global history is being increasingly forgotten, we once again champion the values of peace, reconciliation, and social justice. This is the only path to the liberation and reunification of our homeland and people.
