AKEL C.C. plenary on the Presidential Elections

The plenary of the C.C. of AKEL ended its session, having discussed the upcoming Presidential Elections. The C.C. plenary held a free discussion on the political context in which AKEL approaches its options with regards the election. In addition, an exchange of views took place in relation to various personalities that AKEL could support as candidates.
The discussion held in the C.C. will be assessed by the Political Bureau and will then be completed at a new session of the C.C, which will formulate the proposal to be sent to party base organizations.
Following the discussion of the issue at the party base organizations, the discussion will be assessed at the level of the C.C. which will decide the final proposal that will be put before the Pancyprian Party Conference, which is scheduled to take place in the first half of July. This Party Conference will take AKEL’s final decisions on the Presidential Elections.
