AKEL begins the discussion on election result

In its session today, the Secretariat of the C.C. of AKEL began the initial discussion on the result of the 22^nd May parliamentary elections. As the General Secretary of the C.C. of AKEL Andros Kyprianou stated last night, the decision was taken to convene meetings of the Political Bureau and the Central Committee aiming at assessing the election result, as well as the handling of the issue related to the election of the President of the House of Representatives.

The Political Bureau of the C.C. of AKEL will convene next Friday, 27^th May 2016 and the Central Committee on Monday, 30^th May 2016.

AKEL assures once again the people of Cyprus that as the biggest opposition force it will remain at the forefront of the struggle, defending the rights of Cyprus, the working people and our people.
