Society’s universal demand is that the country be governed by the rule of law and not by a “Mafia state”

The Anti-Corruption Authority’s findings on the book “Mafia State” exposed part of the rot and corruption within the Anastasiades system, stemming from the feast organized at the expense of the Cypriot people.

Even the stones in this land know what is happening. Impunity and cover-ups cannot continue. The Anastasiades system must be dismantled, and the first step towards achieving this is the removal of the Attorney General and the Deputy Attorney General from their posts. This will pave the way for an independent and impartial criminal investigation to be conducted, so that the suspects are brought to justice and the guilty are punished.

This battle against the Anastasiades system concerns every citizen. This mockery and insult to our intelligence cannot continue, with N. Anastasiades demanding even more while DISY demands that everyone remain silent so that the cover-up ring can do its work. It is the unanimous demand of the Cypriot people that our country be governed by the rule of law and not by a “Mafia state.”

The call issued by AKEL and VOLT for tomorrow’s mobiisation is directed at every citizen who demands a thorough investigation, accountability, and punishment for those responsible. Tomorrow, Monday, June 22, at 6:30 p.m., outside the Legal Service in Nicosia, we demand justice and the rule of law.
