We shall prove those who see AKEL weaker wrong

A strong AKEL strong for the whole people

“Those who see AKEL retreating will be proven wrong. AKEL, enthusiastic, united, and strong, is waging the battle of the parliamentary elections with the aim of strengthening its presence, determined to face the challenges of the coming period.”

This message was sent by the General Secretary of AKEL, Stefanos Stefanou, in his speech to the AKEL Paphos District Election Conference, which approved the party’s list of candidates for the upcoming parliamentary elections.

The AKEL General Secretary reminded the audience that, for AKEL representatives, “public office is a springboard for work to serve the people and society as a whole.” He also stressed that AKEL, at a time when disillusionment prevails, has proven through its actions that it is different from other parties.

The proposals it has put forward for taxing bank profits, reducing the cost of electricity, and providing affordable housing for all and not just for the few and the privileged prove this to be so. Stefanos Stefanou also made a strong point about the need to strengthen AKEL as the only consistent opposition force that prioritizes serving the interests of the young generation, the middle strata, workers, low-income pensioners, and those who are struggling daily to make ends meet.”

The AKEL Paphos District Secretary, Andreas Fakontis, pointed out that the AKEL candidate list “combines experience with renewal, proven fighters with new faces. The composition of our list expresses the character of AKEL, the Social Alliance, and the broader spectrum of the Left. Together with these five distinguished persons, we are all called upon to wage the electoral campaign with enthusiasm, integrity, and sincerity.”
