AKEL denounces the new action of undermining the UN and international law by the US

The Trump administration’s decision to revoke visas for Palestinian Authority officials ahead of the UN General Assembly is a flagrant provocation against international law and represents a new action of undermining the United Nations and its resolutions. It also constitutes a blatant violation of US commitments under the 1947 Agreement on the Seat of the UN, given that the State of Palestine is an observer at the UN.

This decision, which was obviously taken to satisfy the Netanyahu regime— confirms that Israel’s ongoing genocide in Palestine is being carried out with the open support of the US and that the Palestinian people as a whole and their leadership are being targeted by Israel and the US.

AKEL stresses that the ongoing and systematic undermining of the UN by the Trump and Netanyahu regime is dangerous and must be stopped by the states and peoples of the world.
