AKEL will participate in today’s mobilisation for the 1st September – International Trade Union Day of Action for Peace

AKEL calls on the members and friends of the Party, as well as every peace-loving compatriot, to participate in today’s mobilisation dedicated to the International Trade Union Day of Action for Peace. The mobilisation, with the class-based trade union federation of PEO and the Turkish Cypriot trade unions at the forefront, is also supported by dozens of Greek Cypriot and Turkish Cypriot organisations, including AKEL.

In a period of stagnation and dangers for the course of the Cyprus problem, but also in an international environment where war and armed conflicts continue to be a means of confrontation in international relations, we respond that the only viable solution for the peoples of the world is Peace.

The mobilisation will start at 6:30 pm from Freedom Square in Nicosia and will end with a march to the buffer zone of Ledra Palace, where the main event will take place.
