Andreas Mavroyiannis has a proposal for the day after on the Cyprus problem

“Mr. Andreas Mavroyiannis has a proposal on the Cyprus problem for the day after which evidently Nikos Anastasiades, DISY President Averof Neophytou and neither DISY do not have,” AKEL MP Aristos Damianou pointed out, explaining that this will be achieved “through synergies in a number of areas, through the assumption of positive initiatives towards the Turkish Cypriot community before the solution of the Cyprus problem, by making use of the energy factor in the perspective of the solution and to consolidate the solution, but also to unlock the processes, by taking action towards the international community to restore our credibility, a series of measures that we have analysed extensively and of course no one is doubting Turkish intransigence”.

Replying to the question with regards which economic model does Mr. Mavroyiannis have in mind and has convinced AKEL to support him, Mr. Damianou, said that “we are talking about a sustainable developmental model that will not be based on “get-rich-quick” predatory policies such as the ‘golden’ passports schemes, and that will have the element of timelessness, will respect the environment – which is not the case today – and of course, in relation to the wider society, to re-establish good administration, the rule of law, which has been suffering for many years.”
