AKEL’s Easter message

AKEL wishes all the Cypriot people good health and prosperity, progress and the vindication of our homeland, days of joy and rest during the festive period. We send a special message to all working people who, even during the Easter holidays, are obliged to be at their posts and working shifts, in essential services, hospitals and the retail trade.

Our thoughts are with the people of labour, toil and poverty, with the tens of thousands of households that are suffering from the economic hardship and the now uncontrollable price increases in our country, with the people who face job insecurity due to the chain of economic consequences caused by the war in Ukraine. In the immediate future, we will continue our assertions for the defence of the rights and dignity of all these people with even greater determination. In this struggle, we address an appeal for unity and action to all the people.

The Easter message, a symbol of the victory of life over darkness and injustice, is a message of hope for the future of all humanity, for the future of our homeland and people who are going through their own trying times. With solidarity and struggle. With optimism and determination.

This is our wish and hope.

With these thoughts in mind, AKEL wishes everyone a Happy Easter and Resurrection, with peace and love, to all.”
