AKEL/Presidential elections: Date for Pancyprian Party Conference set

AKEL’s Pancyprian Party Conference will take place on 15 May which will approve the final decision on the candidate AKEL will support for the 2023 presidential elections, AKEL MP Christos Christofides revealed to ‘Astra’ radio.

Addressing citizens, Christos Christofides stressed that restraint and the filtering of all that is being heard and written in the mass media is needed, so that people do not become the prey of decisions.

He also reiterated that AKEL’s goal is to change the government, noting that this cannot be done with DISY candidate Averof Neophytou, nor with former government Minister Nikos Christodoulides.

C.Christophides also stated that AKEL is in a stage of consultation and reflection, saying that things will be clarified soon.
