AKEL’s proposals on the Cyprus problem have been tucked away in Presidential Palace’s drawers for the past 4 months
AKEL replies to deputy government spokesperson

Deputy Government spokesperson Victoras Papadopoulos replies to what he would like to hear and not to what AKEL actually says.
Mr. Papadopoulos wonders “what exactly is AKEL asking from the President?” His query can be answered quite easily. Let him search in which of the Presidential Palace’s drawers the proposal for the resumption of the talks that AKEL has submitted to Mr. Anastasiades 4 months ago has been tucked away and let him read it.
Its not enough that Mr. Anastasiades and DISY have neither a vision nor a proposal for the reunification of Cyprus, they don’t even make the effort to also discuss proposals which AKEL has prepared aiming to contribute constructively to the effort for the resumption of the talks.
The stand taken by Mr. Anastasiades and ruling DISY party on the Cyprus problem in recent years produces grave responsibilities the cost of which will be paid by the country and people.
We hope that even at the last minute the President will reflect on matters.
