AKEL honors the memory of the 13 men in the Mari naval base blast

On the occasion of the 9th anniversary of the tragedy at Mari, AKEL honors the memory of the thirteen men of the National Guard, the Fire Brigade and EMAK, who lost their lives on duty during the deadly explosion of 11th July 2011 at the “Evangelos Florakis” naval base.
The tragedy at Mari is a reminder of the need for constant vigilance on the part of the State, the state apparatus, the army and the security forces on matters with regards protecting the lives and safety of citizens and members of the security forces. It is the responsibility and duty of the responsible state to ensure that no more such tragedies happen again.
