AKEL supports the just demands of nursing staff

The stalling and retractions by the state health services OKYPY is the cause of the situation that has been created in the field of health. While OKYPY had initially agreed to both the adequate staffing of public hospitals with nursing staff and to the autonomy of the Ambulance Service, it eventually have backtracked and is unacceptably dragging its feet. This is a mockery of the nurses whom we were all expressing our gratitude up until recently for their role in confronting the coronavirus pandemic.

Adequate staffing of public hospitals constitutes an essential precondition for our country to acquire a quality public health system.

AKEL supports the just demands of nursing staff. OKYPY and the Ministry of Health are called upon to take on their responsibilities.
