AKEL letter to the President of the Turkish Cypriot CTP – Republican Turkish Party

The General Secretary of the Central Committee of AKEL A.Kyprianou sent a letter today to Tufan Erhurman, President of the Turkish Cypriot “Turkish Republican Party” CTP, on the occasion of his re-election to the Presidency of the party. The main part of the letter follows:
“On behalf of the Central Committee of AKEL, I congratulate you on your re-election as President of the Republican Turkish Party.
On this occasion, I would like to stress the importance of AKEL’s long-standing relations with the Republican Turkish Party. These relations represent a fundamental guarantee for the unity of our people in the struggle to achieve the solution of federation, as this has been outlined in the relevant UN resolutions and High-Level Agreements.
At a time of new provocations on the Cyprus problem, our parties have a historical responsibility to provide solutions to the deadlocks, always guided by the necessary vision for the reunification of our country and people.
I am certain that our cooperation and communication will continue, as well as the further strengthening of the relations between our two parties.”
