AKEL makes the Menendez-Rubio Bill public translated into Greek

AKEL C.C. Press Office, 13 June 2019, Nicosia

AKEL today makes the entire Menendez-Rubio Bill (attached) public, which has been translated into Greek. AKEL reiterates once again that it does not disagree with the upgrading of the Republic of Cyprus’ relations with the USA, provided that this doesn’t harm the interests of Cyprus and doesn’t endanger its relations with other countries. AKEL strongly disagrees with the attempt for the Republic of Cyprus to become an arena of international confrontations and conflicts.

Unfortunately, in Cyprus, we have learned to discuss issues by engaging in slogans and ideological fixations, which prevents a meaningful dialogue and reflection being waged. We urge everyone to study the bill and judge what interests it serves. We are ready to discuss the Bill’s content, which the government has been rejoicing about for some months now.
