DISY black propaganda messages being conveyed betrays only panic

Reply by AKEL C.C. Spokesperson Stefanos Stefanou to DISY President

AKEL C.C. Press Office, 4 May 2019, Nicosia

We understand the reasons causing panic to DISY President A. Neophytou which is precisely why we will avoid with our comments to make his life and position more difficult.

The black propaganda messages he is conveying betrays only panic, as well as his desperate attempt to persuade the overwhelming majority of his party’s disappointed voters of the Anastasiades-DISY government’s supposed achievements.

His attempt to continue in the seventh year of the Anastasiades-DISY administration to still engage in opposition to the previous government betrays only panic.

It is a world first for the President of a ruling government party to be calling on his voters to vote for him as an opposition. Is it himself he sees in the mirror when Mr. Neophytou talks about steps backwards?

We say so because the real step backwards is being experienced every day by all Cypriots as a result of the inconsistent handling of the Cyprus problem by the ruling government forces, the refutation of the government’s supposed “success story” in the economy, the collapse of the Cyprus Cooperative Bank, the glorification of cronyism-clientelism, the international humiliation of the Republic of Cyprus because of the “golden passports” scheme and the fact that Cyprus tops the EU tables on income inequalities, poverty, job and social insecurity.

Panic is also demonstrated with the tragic consequences of an unprecedented bad governance, which regretfully yet again has come to the fore with the revelations of the hideous acts committed by the serial killer.

Unfortunately for DISY, its leadership’s panic appears to be addictive. It was transmitted to Mr. Anastasiades too, transforming him from a President to a Party boss because only panic can explain the reasons why the President, who supposedly “unites” is dividing Cypriots into patriots and non-patriots.
