AKEL at the 20th International Meeting of Communist and Workers’ Parties

AKEL is participating in the 20th International Meeting of Communist and Workers’ Parties with a delegation consisting of the Parliamentary Representative of AKEL and member of the Political Bureau of the C.C. Yiorgos Loukaides and the Head of the International Relations Bureau and a member of the C.C. Vera Polycarpou. The 20th International Meeting of Communist and Workers’ Parties, which begins today 23 November and ends on Sunday, 25 November, in Athens, is hosted by the Communist Party of Greece.

The International Meeting convenes every year since 1998 in various countries of the world and represents the arena where the Communist and Workers’ Parties exchange views and coordinate their joint action. 91 parties from all over the world are participating in this year’s Meeting whose subject is “The contemporary working class and its alliance. The tasks of its political vanguard – the Communist and Worker’s Parties – in the struggle against exploitation and imperialist wars, for the rights of the workers and of the peoples, for peace, for socialism.”

AKEL, as a member of the Working Group which prepares the International Meetings of Communist and Workers’ Parties, also took part in the session of the Group which met yesterday on Thursday.
