It is the government that is spreading fake news and slanders

Because the Government Spokesman attributed the statement by the General Secretary of AKEL Andros Kyprianou that the President of the Republic discussed “decentralized” federation with Turkey as slander and “fake news” and as he is wondering from where the General Secretary of AKEL obtained the information, we reply that our “informant” is the President himself.

It is Mr. Anastasiades himself who told the meeting of the Council of Political Leaders that he had raised the issue of “decentralized” federation to Turkish Foreign Minister Cavusoglou.

It is therefore not “fake news” and slander what the General Secretary of AKEL said. What is “Fake news” and slander is what the government is propagating via the Government Spokesman
